Everyone has a story about it, or knows someone who does, and thus everyone can put themselves in the place of those who actually were there, and wonder what would have happened.

So we weren't on the bridge. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean we're ok... ;-)

MitchellOur Wordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12188506164399989250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9284635.post-81880507567972987352007-08-03T23:57:00.000-05:002007-08-03T23:57:00.000-05:00I'm really glad you guys are OK. My manager at work (um...the job I left today) was nearly on the bridge, and I thank God he got irritated and exited on 4th.

Any of us could have been there; who in the Metro area HASN'T crossed that bridge a thousand times?Adorohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02853244433854822731noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9284635.post-54920246384334202582007-08-02T16:53:00.000-05:002007-08-02T16:53:00.000-05:00Hi Judy!I was wondering how close you were to this...Hi Judy!
I was wondering how close you were to this and if you were safe. I just sat down at my computer to try to get your number and this came up. Well written, well thought out. I too like the last paragraph!
Susan, your friend from SPHS and before!Susan B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/14429752925288151376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9284635.post-83098069514215678032007-08-02T14:18:00.000-05:002007-08-02T14:18:00.000-05:00Mitchell: I wondered if you would be at the noon M...Mitchell: I wondered if you would be at the noon Mass at St. Olaf. Ah, the good old days (for me anyway)

I'll be at Mass this evening.

We are coming upon First Friday/First Saturday, Monday is the Transfiguration, the 15th is the Assumption-seems like a lot of opportunities coming up to give thanks to God and Our Lady and reflect upon what it is all really about.Cathy_of_Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16795566831031491371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9284635.post-24082998280286655302007-08-02T14:06:00.000-05:002007-08-02T14:06:00.000-05:00Thanks, chum. You know what they say about there ...Thanks, chum. You know what they say about there being no atheists in foxholes! :) But it's surely a day to offer thanksgiving.

At the service at St. Olaf this noon, Fr. McDonough (representing the arch) said everyone should go back to their home or office and let someone know they're OK, let them know that they care. And then tomorrow tell a loved one how much you love them before you leave for the day. And he's so right, life is that fleeting. If something like this serves no other purpose, perhaps it will remind us of this.

MitchellOur Wordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12188506164399989250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9284635.post-55225528152483156582007-08-02T11:14:00.000-05:002007-08-02T11:14:00.000-05:00Mitchell: I'm glad you are Judith are fine.Excelle...Mitchell: I'm glad you are Judith are fine.

Excellent closing paragraph.Cathy_of_Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16795566831031491371noreply@blogger.com
