If you're reading this post, you've arrived at Our Word and Welcome To It. For a long time, we've viewed the blogosphere with a mixture of awe and trepidation. Finally we figured, "Hey, we want a piece of the action, too! We've got as much to say as anyone else!"
The rest, as they say, is history.
Our Word isn't strictly a "Catholic" blog, but rather one that's informed by a Catholic sensibility. We'll talk about politics, the arts, culture, religion, and current events. (And that's just for starters!) Our content will be a mix of longish, essay-type posts and shorter blurbs and one-liners. We'll feature links to articles, websites and blogs that we find interesting. We also hope to become a "must read" for like-minded people who want to find out just what the heck is going on out there.
Regular readers of Our Word will come to know us as opinionated, contrarian, and curmudgeonly. They'll also find that while we think life is a serious business, that doesn't mean you always have to be serious.
As for our posting protocol: Mitchell's posts will begin with MH, while Judith's start with JH. Clever, huh?
We think Our Word will be something worth saying. We hope you'll agree, and that you'll want to discuss and debate it with us.
And away we go!
