In light of the tragic news in Raleigh where a bus driver was killed in a crash, let's remember who he was, and one of college basketball's most famous moments. Dereck Whittenburg's 30-foot heave was caught by Lorenzo Charles, whose dunk at the buzzer is one of the classic moments in sports history. Despite a long minors and European professional career, and only one NBA season, Lorenzo Charles was known for one dunk that gave North Carolina State a surprise victory over Houston's Phi Slamma Jamma (Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler the best known players of that group).
